New regulary Friday at Glasgow's coolest club The Flying Duck. With regular host DJ Gavin Dunbar (Camera Obscura) joined by some very special guests in Feb ? Pat Nevin, Jim Brady, Gerry Love (Teenage Fanclub)

Running every Friday from 11pm till 3am, The Flying Duck is proud to present BACK TAE MINE as the best destination for all those folk out on a Friday who are looking for something different in the city centre.

It's more like continuing from the pub and going back to someone's house, the only difference being there's a dance floor and the hosts not going to get their CD's stolen.

It's also true that we give away toast when the munchies kick in (and tea is available at the bar) to really give that house party feeling.

Your host for the evening is Gavin Dunbar of Camera Obscura who will be joined along the way by some exceptional guest DJ's ? see profiles below ? who shall be bringing their own tastes and expertise to the party.

Gavin has years of DJing experience as one of indie club stalwarts The Winchester Club and is the regular host at Back Tae Mine. As a performer in one of the country's leading bands, Camera Obscura, you can imagine he has a decent taste in music and will play to keep the dance floor busy?but he shall not be alone.

PAT NEVIN ? Feb 8th

A legend of our times for famously being a footballer with a brain and having an eclectic taste of music. In the 80's while starring for Chelsea Pat was regularly featured in the NME because of his fondness for The Fall and Joy Division which set him apart from his fellow pro's. Having DJ'd for various club nights in the past it is with great excitement that we welcome Pat and look forward to hearing what he's got in his record bag.

JIM BRADY ? (NANOBOTS/JOHNNY 7/BLEACHIE) Feb 15th

So tonight Matthew, Jim's going to be Rik Flick of Johnny 7.

As a member of The Legendary Johnny 7 Rik Flick has in his time played the world's most prestigious venues from cruise ships to the Royal Albert Hall, written Bond themes, fought legal battles to prove he wasn't Iggy Pop and become personal friends of Rolf Harris.
Rik will be bringing those decades of diverse worldly experience and more to an exceptional mix of tunes skimmed from the cream of music's easy listening, funk, punk, pop and discotheque with more than a smattering of classic and cult movie and TV themes.
Expect John Barry, NWA, Gary Numan, Blondie, The Professionals etc

GERRY LOVE ? (TENNAGE FANCLUB)

Writer and performer in one of Scotland's greatest bands.

Teenage Fanclub have been prominent as one of the UK's most consistently great bands for almost 2 decades and Gerry has been a major influence in their unique sound. A dab hand at DJing Gerry has played many clubs before and has a diverse and quality music taste with a penchant for adding some great soul music to his sets. Always a winner.
